Advocate Febin James began his carrier as an Associate Legal Editor of Malaysian Legal Magazine “Malaysian Legal Alert (MLA) and Special Correspondent (Asia-Pacific) of MLA “Friday Mail” (published by M. Knowledge Management Services Malaysia Bhd.). He is Currently, practicing civil and criminal lawyer at Thrissur Bar, having standing of Fifteen years. He is a panelist Intellectual Property Rights Resource person and consultant of Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE), Patent Information Centre, Kerala (PIC Kerala) (Government of Kerala), Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM), Centre For Advance Computing (C-DAC) an other reputed government and non-governmental institutions. He is also an accredited Mediator empaneled by the Indian Institute of Arbitration and Mediation (IIAM) He was honored by the Chief Justice of India, Honorable Justice KG Balakrishanan in the year 2004 for his contributions in field of Legal literature.
He completed his Masters in Business Law (MBL) from National Law School of India University, Bangalore. He also holds dual Masters in Intellectual Property Rights Law and Cyber Law from School of Indian Legal Thought, Department of Law, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala. He completed his Bachelors in Law, (LLB) from the University of Calicut and Diploma Course on Intellectual Property rights form Indian Law Institute, Deemed University, (September 2005). He completed Bachelor of Arts (Law) (BAL) from University of Calicut in May 2005.
His area of specialization spans to Intellectual Property rights litigation, Civil & Criminal litigation, Consumer Court matters, Arbitration and Mediation.
He has also undertaken and published research works “Protection of Software under IPR Regime” and “Role of Intellectual Property Rights in Mergers and Acquisitions”
